Mediterranean Lanscape Design

Project Overview

Nestled in the countryside, this landscape design draws on rustic simplicity and unpretentious charm, aiming for a space that embodies comfort, durability, and connection to nature. Our approach was to blend natural materials with practical enhancements, creating an outdoor experience that is as low-maintenance as it is visually inviting.

The goal was to create a space that felt both timeless and easy to maintain, blending organic materials with practical enhancements for lasting comfort and style. The main areas of intervention were:

South Facade & Pool Area: Extend the front porch with a pergola covered in climbing vines, creating a shaded, comfortable space that flows into a cozy pool and fire pit area. The addition of natural stone paving simplifies maintenance while adding rustic appeal, with a convenient outdoor shower rounding out the amenities.

Driveway & East Facade: Define the driveway and under-balcony spaces with natural stone and add a mini pergola for enhanced curb appeal. This element unifies the visual aesthetic across the property, connecting each area with a rustic charm.

Perimeter Wall & Gate: Elevate the stone wall height and install a solid entry gate to increase privacy and security, softened by a planted screen along the boundary for a natural, integrated look.

Pergola Addition: A new pergola was introduced.

Al Fresco Dining: A natural wood dining table was positioned under the pergola.

Framed Staircase: The stairs were relocated further along the facade, now framed by two built-in planters crafted from the same rustic stone as the house, seamlessly connecting the pergola to the rest of the garden.

Unified Paving: The entire area was paved with natural stone, simplifying maintenance and providing a cohesive aesthetic.

Refreshing Pool: A pool was included to enhance the garden’s functionality while blending with its organic appeal.

Facade Enhancements: The house was repainted and the front door updated.

Driveway & East Facade

Pergola Addition: A wooden pergola frames the lower level, providing shade and structure. It is adorned with climbing vines planted in terracotta vases, creating a natural, welcoming look.

Hammock Corner: A cozy hammock was added to the pergola area, offering a relaxed spot to enjoy the outdoors.

Shutters and House Color: The house was repainted, complemented by sage-green shutters that harmonize with the surrounding greenery.

Unified Paving: The driveway was paved with the same natural stone as the patio, ensuring continuity and simplifying maintenance.

Rustic Accents: Carefully chosen terracotta pots, climbing greenery, and lavender borders enhance the facade's rustic yet elegant vibe.

Fire Pit

This area was designed as a warm and inviting retreat. At its center, a weathered steel fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs. The natural stone paving ties the space to the rest of the design, while layered greenery and ornamental grasses provide privacy and a soft, organic backdrop. Positioned below the pool and pergola, it serves as a seamless transition into the garden.
